I was born in France and raised in beautiful Jamaica. I've spent a lot of my life traveling and I'm lucky enough to have also been to England, Nigeria, Benin, Switzerland, Belgium, and the United States. All that traveling has inspired me to write diverse characters from many different backgrounds. I started writing when I was 10 years old, and I even wrote a short script that ended up being a school play, but I didn't start to take it seriously until one of my high school English teachers encouraged me.
Even though my mother is Jamaican, I was not born a Jamaican. I had to become one. I do not take that for granted. When I first came to Jamaica I didn't know much about the place that was going to be my home. It was history that made me fall in love with my country, and I've written magazine articles about Jamaican history so I can share what I've learned.
I live in Kingston, Jamaica with my family.
Influences: Too many to remember, but definitely Jane Austen, Tessa Dare, Andrea Levy, Nalini Singh, and P.G. Wodehouse.
Fun historical fact: I have an Ellis Island ancestor. My great-great grandmother came to America from Jamaica through Ellis Island in 1910.
